I had so many people asking about the Easter tablescape that I posted on my insta stories that I wanted to put together a check-list for you. This list will hopefully help you easily create a tablescape that your guests will be talking about for days and totally insta worthy.

My parents have always been big entertainers and with a mindset of the more the merrier! Whenever they had company, each of my sisters and I had a "job" to help in the preparations and I often got the job to set the table and have always LOVED it. So here is my super easy checklist to make your table stands out with unique touches.

  • Tablecloth
No matter how beautiful your table is, a tablecloth or placemats are a great way to set your color scheme for the event. It provides a clean base for you to build your tablescape on. This one is an amazing neutral soft grey by Kate Spade.

  • Chargers
In my Easter tablescape, I used double plates of slightly different sizes, which works just as well. Either option helps create layers and dimension to your table, making it even more interesting to they eye.

  • Drinking Glasses - Water and Wine/Champagne
I have a fairly small dining table, but still was able to fit both. The wine glasses create a great height and the napkin in the glass adds a wonderful flair. I love my water glasses to carry the character and often use mason jars or for more formal occasions, my Waterford tumblers.

  • Centerpiece
A lot of times, people think a centerpiece needs to be a big bouquet of flowers, but I prefer to make the centerpieces low and sprawling with an interesting feature. This one had a teacup as the vase and my mom had the genius idea of keeping it going with our Easter Egg hunt treats.

  • Napkins
My mom has an amazing collection of gorgeous cloth napkins which are fantastic for folding and styling. While I build up my collection, festive paper napkins actually work really well. Bows are one of my favorite things to do with them.
  • Utensils
There are proper ways to set the utensils (forks on the left, knives on the right, etc.) I'll have to dive into the details in another post, but wanted to mention them here and to say that having utensils with a cute design is a great addition to your table. An up and coming brand I am loving is Mika Maison with their super modern, elegant cutlery.

  • Takeaway
This is really the speciality that my mom taught me. It started with the Christmas cracker idea and now for most events, the plate or table setting has a small goodie bag whether it is a little chocolate, a bottle stopper, or other genius goodie bag filled with something cool. It's a great little add to the table setting and guests love the extra touch.

Although, I didn't use the below in this tablsescape, they are great adds, especially for evening events.

  • Chair Finish
There are some great slipcovers for dining chairs out there that add an elegance to your table setting. Another great way is to get a large ribbon and finish the back of the chair with a big bow!

  • Water Pitcher
There is nothing worse than dying of thirst at a gathering. A few cute water pitchers add great decor and keep your guests happy.

  • Salt & Pepper shakers
Mini salt and pepper shakers placed throughout the table are so handy. A rule of thumb is to place one pair every section of 4 to 6 people.

  • Candles
In my opinion, there is no such thing as too many candles. Little tea lights throughout your table or a bundle of candles of varying sizes as your centerpiece both add ambience and dimension to your table.

Hope your next event is a knock-out one with a tablescape to your remember! Share it with us by posting and tagging #beyondtheclock! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
